I Got The Look and Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce

I loved my little part of the blogging world before "she" came into my life, but now...I am enthralled.  I love that word.  Enthralled.  It even sounds like it means.  It's a classy word.

On the opposite side of the spectrum and not so classy, I was severely craving Hooter's Boneless Wings today.  I had it bad...I could smell them in their buttery, medium, hot sauce.  I wanted them and an ice cold glass of Mountain Dew...

and then I made this...

because I have an over abundance of these...

Southern Apple Cake with Home-made Caramel Sauce

Wings?  What wings?  What's a Hooters...this cake is "that" good.  I hadn't been planning on doing a food post, but I took this opportunity to see how things would go with the new girl and using my tri-pod which makes food pictures much easier.  Can you tell I have become very attached to my new camera?

I wish I could take credit for this wonderfully delightful and super easy recipe, but I can't.  I found it on Tasty Kitchen, my most favorite place to find recipes.  You can find the recipe here.  Cinjam on Hun...What's for Dinner has a blog post all about this cake.  I won't post the recipe here because that would be redundant and I would rather you just get to see my photos of the process.

The verdict on this cake...it is moist, light, and just cinnamon apple goodness.  The only change I made was I splashed the apples with orange juice to prevent the apples from browning.

Also, try not to upload pictures when you are making the caramel sauce...yeah, that doesn't really work out too well.

Trust me on that one.

Cold day plus luscious apple cake equals one happy me, even without Hooters wings.

This is Home Girl and I hope you are happy where you are.

You know, I've heard that Hooters has excellent wings. We love to go to Buffalo's for ours...now I'm craving some, too! That cake looks out-of-this-world DE-LISH!

I will have to try this one. I always have lots of apples in the fall and I usually make Paula Deen's apple cake. It is so good, but big. I feel compelled to eat way too much. Can't waste it!

I haven't been to Hoooters since college! And it have several in the vicinity :) I do love wings and beer! But I'll definitely take a bit of this too! Photography seems to open up a brand new world, doesn't it?? It's like I've been to a place a 100x, but it's nothing like going for the 1st time with my camera :) Enjoy!
